LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
What to Know Before Booking a Courier in Knoxville
Knoxville is a university city on the Tennessee River, at the junction of two interstates and the road to the mountains. These six points shape a delivery.
I-40 and I-75 Share the Road
The two interstates run together for nearly 20 miles through West Knoxville, carrying long-haul trucks along with local traffic. It is one of the busiest stretches in Tennessee, and a wreck there slows the whole west side.
Game Days by the River
Home football games bring more than 100,000 people to the stadium beside the river, and streets around campus close hours ahead. Deliveries downtown and near the university go the day before or early that morning.
The Federal Sites in Oak Ridge
The national laboratory and the other federal sites in Oak Ridge are behind security gates. A delivery needs the recipient’s name and building and the site’s visitor instructions, and unexpected deliveries are turned away.
Kingston Pike
Kingston Pike runs the length of West Knoxville, lined with shopping centers and offices from Bearden to Farragut. It is the address for much of the city’s business and is slow at midday and in the evening.
Traffic to the Mountains
Visitors to the national park and the resort towns east of the city fill I-40 and Highway 66 on weekends, in summer, and in October for the leaves. Deliveries toward Sevierville take longer then.
Eastern Time
Knoxville is on Eastern time, an hour ahead of Nashville and Memphis. It is worth stating the time zone when someone in another part of the state books a delivery.

KNOXVILLE COURIER FAQ
Knoxville Courier Service FAQ
How much do courier services cost in Knoxville?
Price depends on the route, the stops, the vehicle, and the timing. West Knoxville runs are 10 to 15 miles, and Oak Ridge or Maryville is 15 to 25. There are no tolls. Enter your addresses for an estimate.
Is same-day courier service available in Knoxville?
Yes. Same-day delivery covers Knoxville, Farragut, Powell, Alcoa, Maryville, Oak Ridge, and Lenoir City.
Do Knoxville couriers deliver to Oak Ridge?
Yes. Deliveries to businesses in Oak Ridge are routine. The federal sites need access arranged by the recipient.
Do you deliver to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, or Gatlinburg?
Check the route in the calculator. Those towns are 25 to 40 miles from Knoxville, and visitor traffic makes the drive slow at busy times.
Can a courier deliver to the university in Knoxville?
Yes. Give the building, the office or lab, and a contact. On game days, campus streets are closed to deliveries.
Can couriers pick up near the Knoxville airport?
Yes. Couriers pick up from the cargo buildings and the warehouses in Alcoa.
Do Knoxville couriers deliver to Chattanooga or Nashville?
Chattanooga is about 110 miles southwest and Nashville about 180 miles west. Both are separate markets, and the calculator will show whether a route can be priced.
Can I schedule recurring deliveries in Knoxville?
Yes. Routes can repeat across Knox, Blount, and Anderson counties on the days you choose.
