LOCAL KNOWLEDGE

What to Know Before Booking a Courier in Atlanta

Atlanta is spread across more than two dozen counties and tied together by a few very busy interstates. These six points affect cost and timing.

  1. Inside or Outside the Perimeter

I-285 circles the city, and locals sort every address into inside the Perimeter or outside it. A route that crosses that line at rush hour is a different job from one that stays on one side.

  2. The Downtown Connector

I-75 and I-85 merge into a single road through the middle of the city. It is the direct route between Midtown, Downtown, and the airport, and it is slow for much of the day, so couriers often take surface streets for short in-town runs.

  3. Big Trucks Go Around, Vans Go Through

Georgia law keeps trucks with more than six wheels on I-285 unless they have a pickup or delivery inside it. Courier SUVs, minivans, and cargo vans are not covered by that rule and can take the direct route through town.

  4. Peach Pass Express Lanes

Express lanes on I-85, I-75, and I-575 charge a toll that changes with traffic and require a Peach Pass. At peak hours they can take a good share of the time out of a long suburban run.

  5. Check Which Peachtree

Dozens of Atlanta streets have Peachtree in the name: Peachtree Street, Peachtree Road, West Peachtree, Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, and more. The full street name, suffix, and ZIP code keep a delivery from going to the wrong one.

  6. Stadiums and Conventions

Events at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena, and the Georgia World Congress Center fill downtown streets, and Truist Park does the same where I-75 meets I-285 in Cobb County. Deliveries near those venues go best well before an event starts.

ATLANTA COURIER FAQ

Atlanta Courier Service FAQ

How much does a courier service cost in Atlanta?

It depends on the route, the number of stops, the vehicle, and the timing. Distance matters more here than in most cities, because the metro area is so spread out. Enter your pickup and dropoff for an estimate.

Is same-day courier service available in Atlanta?

Yes. Same-day courier delivery is available inside the Perimeter and across the suburbs, including Marietta, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, and Duluth.

Do Atlanta couriers deliver outside the Perimeter?

Yes. Cobb, North Fulton, Gwinnett, DeKalb, and the Southside are all covered, and many routes run from one suburb to another without entering the city.

Can a courier deliver to and from the airport area?

Yes. Couriers pick up and deliver at businesses, hotels, and cargo facilities around Hartsfield-Jackson. Include the building or dock number and a contact on site.

How long does a delivery across Atlanta take?

Drive time varies widely with traffic. Alpharetta to the airport is about 35 miles, and the trip can take twice as long at rush hour as it does at midday. The calculator shows the mapped drive time for your route.

Can I schedule recurring courier routes in Atlanta?

Yes. Routes can repeat on the days you choose, and preferred couriers are offered your pickups first, so the same people learn your stops.

Can one courier cover multiple stops around the metro?

Yes. A multi-stop route can link stops in town and in several suburbs in one run. Tell us the addresses and which deliveries are time-sensitive.

What do Atlanta couriers deliver?

Catering and bakery orders, flowers, wholesale cartons, printed materials, documents, and retail stock, in SUVs, minivans, and cargo vans.
